At Hicks Furniture, we believe great craftsmanship starts with transparency and trust. Whether you’re exploring a bespoke commission, furnishing a hotel, or planning a complete fit-out, we’ve answered some of the most common questions about our process, materials, delivery, and service. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, our team is always happy to help personally.
What types of furniture do you make?
We create both bespoke handcrafted pieces and furniture for pubs, hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, shops and commercial spaces. Every item is built to order using premium materials and techniques refined over eleven generations.
What industries do you supply contract furniture to?
We supply contract furniture to hospitality, retail, office, and residential development sectors. Our projects include hotels, restaurants, cafés, bars, coworking spaces, and boutique venues throughout Ireland, the UK, and the Middle East.
Can I request custom designs for a special project?
Absolutely. Our design team works closely with clients to tailor dimensions, finishes, and materials to suit any project. Whether you’re furnishing a private residence or a full hospitality venue, we’ll design and craft each piece to your exact specifications.
Do you offer on-site delivery and installation?
Yes. We provide professional delivery and installation across Ireland and the UK. Our experienced fit-out team ensures each piece is positioned, leveled, and finished perfectly on-site for a seamless result.
Do you work with architects, designers, and contractors?
Yes. Hicks Furniture regularly partners with interior designers, architects, and hospitality developers to deliver cohesive design solutions. We can provide technical drawings, material samples, and joinery details to integrate seamlessly into your project.
Do you deliver outside Ireland?
Yes. While our furniture is handcrafted in Ireland, we regularly ship and install throughout the UK, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Each piece is carefully packaged for transport, and our logistics partners ensure safe, timely delivery for projects worldwide.
How long does production take?
Lead times vary depending on project scale, volume and complexity. Bespoke items typically take 4–6 weeks, while larger contract orders may require additional coordination. We’ll confirm a clear schedule before production begins.
Do you offer repairs for James Hicks & Sons furniture?
We do assess and provide estimates for the repair or restoration of stamped, original James Hicks & Sons pieces. Each item is individually evaluated to determine whether it can be safely and authentically restored. In some cases, extensive damage or missing components may make full restoration impractical, but we’re always happy to review photographs or details and offer advice.
